Following the release of
verified accounts
a year ago, Google+ is now unveiling a first wave of custom URLs for
brands and celebrities ranging from Britney Spears to Ubisoft. The
shortened URLs trade long alphanumeric strings for more memorable
addresses like google.com/+hughjackman, giving your followers (and
customers) a quick way to find your profile. Don’t get too excited about
staking your claim just yet, though — Google says it’s rolling out the
new URLs to a short list of verified profiles first, and that it isn't
ready for public signups.
