If you’re a resident of the “Land of the Rising Sun” and you’re on the hunt for a spanking new phone with a lot of oomph and a cool design, you should keep a close eye on NTT DoCoMo’s website, because we’re betting that by the end of the day the GX will in fact show up as “available”.
In the meantime, we should tell you about the new Xperia phone’s pricing, which has been kept under wraps by Sony until now. As far as we can tell (our Japanese is a bit rusty), the GX will be available outright for 75,390 yen (around $960) or for monthly payments of 3,010 yen (26 months) and 6,020 yen (14 months).
That is quite the hefty pricing from Sony and NTT DoCoMo, but the truth is the Xperia GX is one special phone. Also, you should keep in mind, before panicking too much, that Japan is currently one of the most expensive smartphone markets, so if and when the GX will cross the Ocean, it will most likely come at a much more budget-friendly price.
